1990 Scientists at the Idaho National Laboratory explore the idea of using pressurized liquid nitrogen for industrial cutting and cleaning.
1992 Liquid nitrogen project receives funding.

1999 R&D Magazine recognizes liquid nitrogen jet technology as one of the 100 most technically significant products of the year.
1999 Idaho investors provide capital to commercialize nitrogen jet technology.
2001 Nitrocision, LLC is formed with exclusive rights to commercialize liquid nitrogen jet technology.
2003 Nitrocision makes the NitroJet available for purchase or lease.
2003 Nitrocision begins service contract for precision cutting on NASA's Space Shuttle.
2004 Nitrocision introduces its Heat Exchanger Assembly with level controls cryogenic tooling.
2004 Nitrocision begins a multi-year cleaning service project for Newmont Mining Company that saves the company approximately $6 million per year.
2005 Nitrocision updates the NitroJet to include doubled volumetric flows, optimized tooling by using gear drives, developed custom casting industry nozzles and developed an integrated robotic pedestal mount with tooling.
